This is a recurrent theme in my work where I explore how I perceive the horizon. When I observe the horizon I see it as a unique element where all the physical forms such as the sky, land and sea, seem to fuse with each other. I see colours interact, merge and overlap, and the image becomes two-dimensional before painting it. The “making” process involves an extensive manipulation of the medium to create a multi-layered painting that reflects the atmosphere I perceived. I usually allow spontaneity and chance to guide my work by following certain marks made by stains. I am constantly waiting for the unexpected, crossing the limits between figurative and abstract.
